A hard-hitting new ad is being launched by Texans for Truth.
It points out that Bush quit the National Guard early, and now forbids Guardsmen in Iraq from leaving even after fulfilling their commitments.
The ad features Stacy Bannerman, the spouse of a National Guard Sgt. First Class, serving in Iraq.

The ad focuses attention on
George W. Bush's "back-door draft" which has used "stop-loss orders" to prevent the retirements of National Guard and reserve members who were eligible to leave the Army this year. It draws a poweful contrast between Bush's shameful failure to complete his service in the Texas National Guard and those brave men and women whom his orders have forced to serve beyond their terms of duty.
As the Washington Post wrote in December 2003, for the soldiers, "stop-loss is an inconvenience, a hardship and, in some cases, a personal disaster." Our new ad personalizes the trauma that George W. Bush's back-door draft inflicts on soldiers and their families.
In the ad, Stacy Bannerman, whose husband is a Guardsman in Iraq, calls out George W. Bush on his hypocrisy: "The fundamental issue as I see it is integrity. People are literally dying for the lack of integrity."
