    Who Won? Edwards or Cheney?...
Look, obviously anybody reading knows my agenda and that I am a leftist. But let's be honest here, this wasn't the best performance there has ever been in a debate.

Cheney appeared as I expected: tough, ancient, and in denial.

Edwards did better than I thought he would- this man was under a lot of pressure; and he didn't back down and really appeared to "have a plan."

It is also no secret that I wish this was a Kerry- Dean ticket, but I can say that after last night's debate, I feel very comfortable with Edwards. He's young, fresh, and a fighter. Although he has been criticized as a "rich trial lawyer", we saw last night that being a trial lawyer is a good thing. Edwards knew the facts, and how to present a good arguement. Overall, he did very well.

Now, on to Cheney. Lets just say that even as a leftie, I can respect a right-winger that stands up to the President he is working under on an issue he does not agree with. Bush has made it very clear that anyone who is not a heterosexual is a second class person. Cheney, although he said he "supports the President.", did say that his family is important to him, and his lesbian daughter is someone he loves very much. It was obvious that Cheney does not agree with the President on this issue, and I thought it was great that he didn't offer another comment when asked. To me, this was a clear indication that if we get stuck with four more years of Bush (God forbid), that Cheney,( who has no further political aspirations), would stand up to Bush on this issue and STOP hateful amendments to the constitution.

Clearly, both candidates did very well in the debate.
Picking a winner? Tough to do; I would say they both won.
However, taking into fact that this was Edwards' first debate against a man like Cheney...
    EDWARDS WINS THIS ROUND!
