We believe that the decision regarding the selection of the new chair of the Democratic Party is the most critical one facing the DNC since the rules for the selection of delegates were revised in the ’70s. In fact, it may well determine whether the Democratic Party has a viable future.We think that the largest progressive grassroots organization in the state of Texas, with over 40,000 supporters, should let its DNC members know what we think. Rather than flooding them with emails and phone calls, it’s more effective to speak with one voice. So, please click the link below to send us an email telling us who your choice is for DNC Chair. The candidates are listed below. The rules are simple—one person, one vote. Only people who were on our member list as of January 10, 2005, are eligible. Voting ends at midnight CST on Tuesday, January 18.Please put "DNC VOTE" in the subject line.We’ll let you know the results as soon as we’ve verified them. Then we’ll send a letter to each Texas DNC member telling them what you think. Will it make a difference? We don’t know. But we do know they’ll know we’re paying attention—we care, we have opinions, and yes, we know who our DNC members are.
