    As a long-time supporter of government openness and accountability, I oppose any weakening of the Ethics process. You are probably already aware that the committee has admonished DeLay more than once. In addition, the House Republicans changed their caucus rules to allow indicted Members to remain in leadership positions. Apparently, rules just don't apply to Republicans. This latest scheme signals the dangers that lie ahead in a Congress where Tom DeLay wields even more power for his extreme agenda.
