VOICE OF THE MAJORITY

Dear Senator Biden,
First let me say that I respect and honor your leadership in our government.But I am disappointed by your remarks criticizing recent quotes from Howard Dean. I understand that Dean¹s rhetoric is often controversial, but why not give him the benefit of the doubt? He is the Chairman of your party, after all, doing the thankless job of rebuilding the Democrats state by state after years of Washington rule that led you to amazing defeat.Maybe Dean was taken out of context or miss quoted all together? Why not say, that Dean "does not speak for you, but until you see an entire transcript of his comments, you will not speak ill of another Democrat." Or maybe you could say that "you would not have made those remarks, but Dean is entitled to his opinion." In any case, STOP BASHING YOUR OWN! Remember the old saying, if you can't say something nice DON'T SAY ANYTHING at all. So why is it that Democratic leaders like you show restraint from harsh language when criticizing a President who lied us into a war, but feel the need to immediately skewer another Democrat according to Republican talking points? (Read that sentence again.)The thing that pisses me off the most about Democrats, is their propensity to EAT THEIR OWN with knee jerk political correctness that only serves to empower the other side. In other words, bite your tongue the next time you are asked to condemn another Democrat. By chastising Dean, you are NOT helping yourself. But, you are playing into the Republican stereotype that Democrats are insincere flip-floppers who won¹t defend each other, so they can¹t be trusted to defend America. It is crap, but the image sticks because Democrats don't stick together.Do you hear Republicans criticizing each other? NO!! Do you know why? Because, Republicans know that a UNITED FRONT is more important than any nuance. Keep your eye on the ball! You narrowly escaped getting NUKED in the Senate a few weeks ago. Democrats are about to lose all power in our government at a time when America desperately needs you to STAND UP AND FIGHT! (Read that sentence again.)Don¹t misunderstand me. I am not defending Dean. I am pointing out the fatal flaw in all Democrats that we can not afford to indulge. Once you are the majority party again, go ahead, nit-pick all that you want. But for now, with soaring deficits, an out of control war, a looming healthcare crisis, the dismantling of the New Deal, attacks on our Constitution and the Republican power grab over judges, this is NOT the time to disparage other Democrats.We need you out here in America. So stick together with all Democrats and FIGHT FOR US! Even if you have to bite your tongue.
